I took this picture of the City Hall building in Victor, Colorado
during my last visit there. Let me tell you: Victor is a really small
town! I think only about 400 people live there all year around, and
the historic downtown consists of just a couple of blocks.
Victor's City Hall was built in 1900, after a fire devastated much of the city in the summer of 1899. I actually went inside this building in the late 1990's and it felt like I was walking through a different time period.
Today, there is still mining activity happening in Victor and Cripple Creek (Victor's "sister city"). If you're the type who loves quiet, unpretentious small towns in Colorado's high country, you may want to consider visiting Victor.
