I was driving southbound on Teller County
Road 1 heading towards Cripple Creek when I
came across a really nice-looking view
of the Pikes Peak range to the west.
There was no traffic around and an inviting dirt road, North Deer Mountain Road,
was right there to pull into. The weather was unseasonably warm for January, with temperatures in the 50's,
and visibility was perfect to take pictures. As a photographer, I was quite lucky!
I pretty much took these four pictures standing in practically the very same spot.
Most of the best views were towards the west, and the best by far was a shot of the mountains
that buttress the western slope of Pikes Peak. (See below)
Enjoy the pictures. Have a wonderful Colorado day! Oh, and I wasn't
so lucky with the slot machines in Cripple Creek. Ah well! ;)
