In the fall, Teller County "lights up" with amazing fall colors.
Its high altitudes of 8,000 to 10,000 feet
in most places are perfect for growing aspens,
and you'll encounter bright, shimmering aspens at some point if you drive in the Teller County region.
Ah, but if you're seeking out fall colors, you've got to be on your toes! That is because the peak color season
typically lasts only for approximately two weeks in September and/or October.
So where are the best spots in Teller County for viewing fall colors?
Pretty much all of southern Teller County that is forested, including areas
surrounding Highway 67 from Divide to Cripple Creek, Skaguay Reservoir and
Mueller State Park. Also, you also stumble across quite a few fields of aspens near Woodland Park,
Ute Pass and the Wilkerson Pass region.
Below are a few fall foliage pictures I have taken in Teller County, and you are more than welcome
to show off some of your best photos on the Teller County Discussion Forum! :)
